Wendy
We went out to eat last night after returning from the weekend of visiting with our youngest daughter and her family. It was nice to go out and relax. What I feel is the real difference for our clients going through a renovation compared to myself going through renovation is the final money factor. We both have our savings getting eaten away as we renovate but Wayne/I have to worry about not making money at the same time. Each day a crew member or Wayne himself is working on our project, during normal work hours, is less money being made for the company. I do factor this in when we decide to do a project involving our home. There also can be delays by weather, of materials or subcontractors which may throw the schedule off. Sometimes we have to put the business first and our projects take the background. So it is not Wayne that makes our home projects take longer….. Today was spent prepping the crown for paint along with patching and fixing the ceiling. All the new trim and baseboard wood is here along with new bead board for the bar area. We went out late this afternoon to pick out wall paint, trim paint and ceiling paint. I decided to set up the crock-pot today to prepare supper so we could eat in. It felt nice to relax at home this time with a decent home cooked meal. Wayne Our two week window of crashing this project has come to an end. It is time to get back to our previously scheduled clients. We accomplished a lot in that time but the remainder of the work; final trim, painting, and tile work - will have to be squeezed in when possible. Leaving on Thursday for a trip to Miami is only adding to the stress – ugh!
